64 to 2048. The PNG uses whole pixels per square, so it can be a little smaller.

How to use it

  1. Pick what the code should hold (text, link, Wi-Fi, contact or e-mail) and fill in the fields.
  2. Choose the error correction level and size, then download the PNG or SVG.
  3. To read a code, drop an image or start the camera in the “Read a QR code” section.

Frequently asked questions

Which error correction level should I use?

M (15%) suits most uses. Use Q or H if the code will be printed on something that can get scratched or if you place a logo over it; the code gets denser. L (7%) gives the smallest code for clean screens.

Do the codes expire or track scans?

No. The code contains your text itself, not a short link to a service, so it works forever and nothing counts the scans.

SVG or PNG?

SVG is vector: it stays sharp at any print size. PNG is a plain image at the size you chose, one whole number of pixels per square.

Is the camera or my image uploaded?

No. The image or camera frames are decoded in your browser. The camera is only used on this page while it is switched on, and it is turned off when you stop it, find a code or leave the tab.

My Wi-Fi code does not connect.

Check the name and password (case matters) and the security type. Hidden networks need the “hidden” box. Some Android versions only read WPA codes.

Why can’t I read some images?

The code must be sharp, large enough and have a clear margin. Try a bigger or less compressed image, or crop to the code.
