Frequently asked questions

How does it know seconds from milliseconds?

By the number of digits: up to 11 digits is seconds, 12 to 14 milliseconds, 15 to 17 microseconds and more is nanoseconds. This covers dates from 1970 until the year 5138 in seconds.

What date formats can I paste?

ISO 8601 (2026-10-25T12:00:00Z, with or without an offset or fraction), “2026-10-25 12:00:00”, a plain date, and RFC 2822 (Sun, 25 Oct 2026 12:00:00 GMT).

What happens at daylight-saving changes?

When clocks go back and a time happens twice, the first one is used. When clocks go forward and a time does not exist, it moves forward by the missing hour.

What is the Year 2038 problem?

A signed 32-bit count of seconds runs out on 19 January 2038 at 03:14:07 UTC (timestamp 2147483647). This page uses 64-bit-safe arithmetic, so later dates work.

Is the clock accurate?

It shows your device’s clock. Nothing is requested from a server.
