UUID, ULID & NanoID Generator
Generate unique identifiers in bulk: random UUIDs (v4), time-ordered UUIDs (v7), ULIDs and NanoIDs. Paste an ID to read its version and timestamp.
Runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
1 to 1,000.
Leave empty for A–Z a–z 0–9 _ -. At least 2 different characters.
Decode an ID
Braces, hyphens and a urn:uuid: prefix are fine.

How to use it
- Pick the type and how many you need (up to 1,000).
- Copy one ID with its button, or copy or download the whole list.
- To inspect an ID, paste it in the decoder to see its version, variant and, for v1, v6, v7 and ULID, its creation time.
Frequently asked questions
Which should I use, v4 or v7?
v4 is fully random. v7 starts with a millisecond timestamp, so new IDs sort after old ones, which keeps database indexes compact and makes inserts faster. Prefer v7 for primary keys unless you need to hide creation time.
Are v7 IDs in one batch ordered?
Yes. Inside the same millisecond a counter increases, so a batch is strictly increasing, as is a ULID batch.
What is the difference between ULID and UUID v7?
Both are time-ordered. A ULID is 26 characters in Crockford base32 (case-insensitive, URL-safe); a UUID v7 is the standard 36-character UUID format that every database and library already understands.
What is a NanoID?
A short random ID, 21 characters from A–Z, a–z, 0–9, “_” and “-” by default (about 126 bits). You can set the length and your own alphabet.
Are they generated safely?
Yes, with the browser’s cryptographic generator, in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored.
